Dr. Kate Stewart

Family Physician

Dr. Kate Stewart (she/her) is a board certified family physician specializing in sexual and reproductive healthcare. She is an advocate for human rights and health equity, grounded in a belief that everyone deserves access to safe, judgment-free, empowering healthcare. Dr. Stewart co-founded the leading telemedicine abortion company, Hey Jane, where she served as Head of Medical. She has also served as an attending physician at the women’s jail at Rikers Island, where she created a reproductive health clinic; and at the Institute for Family Health, where she specialized in family planning, HIV, and primary care for survivors of human trafficking. Currently, Dr. Stewart provides gender-affirming, reproductive, and primary healthcare to patients across the country through her work with several telemedicine companies. She also provides clinical advisorship to emerging health technology companies that specialize in reproductive healthcare. Dr. Stewart earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and she completed her residency training at the Mount Sinai Residency in Urban Family Medicine in New York City. When she is not working, Dr. Stewart enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Bella.
